Our Story
When Matt and Jenn Pocock established Pocock Building Company in 2010 they wanted to create a residential building company that combined their passions for custom home design, personalised customer service and high quality workmanship.
Your home, your designs, your decisions (with a little help from us) is the essence of this passion and drives how we do business at Pocock Building. It is also the reason why Pocock Building has earned its reputation throughout Albany, Denmark and Mount Barker as a premium builder who delivers stunning homes to their clients.
Matt and Jenn Pocock are also strong supporters of local industry and the community having lived and raised their family in Albany since 1998. Pocock Building Company demonstrates this commitment to Albany and the Great Southern Region by:
Giving preference to local people and suppliers when sourcing products, services and labour;
Supporting Albany youth and the future of the building and construction industry through our apprenticeship program. We currently employ two carpentry apprentices.

Matt Pocock
CONSTRUCTION, MANAGING DIRECTOR & “BOSS MAN”
Matt is a qualified registered builder, who worked in the Construction/Maintenance Supervisory roles for over 30 years prior to starting Pocock Building Company.
He has lived in Albany and surrounds for over 20 years, providing him with first-hand knowledge of the climate and local building conditions. His knowledge and expertise shines through in the quality workmanship of new homes.
Outside of work Matt is passionate about his family, fishing, camping & living life to the max!

Jenn Pocock
SALES & CLIENT LIAISON EXTRAORDINAIRE!
Jenn was a multi-award winning Real Estate Sales Consultant, with over 14 years’ experience in the Albany region, prior to partnering with Matt to establish Pocock Building Company. Jenn loves working with clients, helping them to navigate the building process.
Her motto is ‘building should be fun’.
She thoroughly enjoys engaging with clients, assisting them with colour selections, flooring options, cookware, window treatments and any changes they wish to make to their new home.
Jenn adores her family, adventuring and a good wine shared with friends!

Stephen McCarthy
DESIGNER & SALES CONSULTANT
Steve is a qualified Draftsperson, with a passion to create stunning new home designs. He works closely with clients bringing their dreams to life, within their budget. (a tough gig!)
He loves his family, basketball and is a huge fan of dining out!

Alex Pocock
CARPENTRY TEAM LEADER & TRAINEE “BOSS MAN”!
Alex is a qualified Carpenter with over 12 years’ experience. He has worked alongside his parents since the founding of Pocock Building Company.
He takes great pride in his work and his team, assuring homes are constructed to an exceptional standard.
Alex loves spending time with his wife Liz and pooch Ellie. He is a keen fisherman and farmer in the making!

Jennifer Manoni
ACCOUNTS & ADMINISTRATION
Jenny has been part of the Pocock Team for 9 years and is considered part of the family!
She loves working behind the scenes in administration and accounts, keeping the business running smoothly and enjoys the wonderful camaraderie in the office that makes working a whole lot of fun.
Away from the work place, Jenny spends her time with family on her rural property as well as tending to her boutique olive grove (600 trees) producing beautiful extra virgin olive oil!

Hamish Walker
DRAFTSPERSON
Hamish joined the Pocock Team in 2022 after successfully completing his Cert IV in Residential Building Drafting and being awarded the TAFE Student Award Certificate of Excellence.
His impressive attention to detail is second to none and works closely with Stephen (our Designer) to bring our client’s dream home to reality.
In his spare time, Hamish enjoys watching the footy and cricket and trying to catch fish!
